HELLO ALL! I know it’s been awhile since I posted a blog. I suck at blogging….obviously. Things have been relatively quiet around Anchorage. I was realllly busy last week with diabetes clinic so I didn’t have much time for blogging/picture taking and such. However, do not think for two seconds I haven’t seen, heard and experienced some amazing things.
First, I love...

Hello all! Welcome to my crazy little world currently playing from the great state of Alaska. Today was a fabulous day. Sometimes I can’t believe this life is mine! I am so truly blessed. I hope everyone down home in the “lower 48” is doing fantastic. As much as I am loving it here, I’m starting to miss home. Especially those nearest and dearest to me (love you daddy!)

Hello guys! Sorry it’s been a few days since a post on here. This weekend was INSANE. I’m working on getting a video post up but surprise surprise I’m having technical difficulties. I repel technology. We are not friends sometimes. Anyway…today started out kinda stressful. I woke up a lil’ late and was busy hole punching things when I realized I was late! We hurried...

Hello all! Tonight will be a short post because I have to get to sleep ASAP. Stephanie and I got the final details on what our weekends will be looking like for the rest of our time in Alaska and we decided that this weekend would be best to go to Seward to do our whale watching tour around the Kenai Fjord! We are heading out on a train at 6 am from Anchorage to Seward. From there we will hop on a...

Hello lovelies! Today again finds me a very content and lucky girl. Stephanie and I started our day around 7 am. We headed out to the primary care center with a quick stop to the anchorage native american consortium to have our PPD tests read. Good news all..I don’t have tuberculosis! I know everyone was highly concerned ;) Anywho, Renee sat down with us and helped us narrow our focus for...

Hello world! Yet another day in Anchorage, Alasaka. Today was our true first day of rotation. We met with Renee this AM around 8 am to discuss our project. We will be reviewing oral thrush and hopefully revising the ANMC protocol on how to treat the disease! This will not only help our patients, but will be a huge boost to our CVs! Hopefully we can get a poster/journal publication out of it and...

Hello my lovely friends and family! I hope all of you are well and I am missing each and everyone of you dearly. You are constantly in my thoughts and I wish you could all be here to share in my experience.
Today was the best day I have had thus far. The Alaska Native Medical Center is beyond anything in my wildest dreams. There are at least 6 practice settings (if not more) that Stephanie and I...

Hello all! Day 3 into our Anchorage adventure finds me a very happy girl! Stephanie awoke this AM around 8 to a glorious Alaskan sky with sunshine to be had. It was about 50 degrees when we suited up for a nice run! I FINALLY have a running buddy! yay…after all these years of searching. We would run/walk when we got winded. I would say we did a good 3 to 3.5 miles total! It’s such...

Happy 4th of July to everyong from Anchorage, AK! Today turned out to be quite an experience. Stephanie and I awoke from our slumber to find that despite the passage of several hours the lighting outside had not changed! I honestly feel as if I have been an one perpetual day since Saturday morning. Getting used to this lighting is going to be crazy difficult. Anywho, enough with the boring stuff!...
Day 2
Hello world! I am currently sitting in my new place of residence that I will call my home for the next 5 weeks. We are indeed weary travelers at this point…it’s 2:20 am EST and currently 10:26 pm here in Anchorage with the sun still hovering in the sky. Weather is a cool 51 degrees or so with a lot of overcast. The flight in was amazing..tons of snow capped mountains to speak of....
